VITA. FILMFEST.

Alexander Hick is a graduate of HFF Munich film school and the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfico, México City. He was awarded with the grant from Bavarian State Ministry for Education, Science and the Arts in 2013 and DAAD Scholarship in 2012. After several short films, he has completed two feature length documentaries, Atl Tlachinolli and Thinking like a Mountain. Both films premiered at renowned Vision du Réel Film Festival, Switzerland, and successfully run in many other festivals listed below. Thinking like a Mountain won the Human Rights Film Award, Germany. Alexander Hick has directed several documentaries for german- french broadcaster ARTE, ZDF and Irish TV.

In 2015 he confounded the artist collective Flipping the coin, based in Berlin.

Alexander Hick is international certified mountain guide since 2018 and in recent years he has been rebuilding the ancient off the grid stone house „Casa El Pui“, in the Spanish pyrenes, where he is preparing upcoming documentaries.
